| Price of materials must be in line with quality, performance, specifications, delivery, and payment conditions, as well as conforming to current market pricing trends, and be found suitable. | |
| Materials must also ensure safety during use and operation. The materials must demonstrate sufficient consideration for the environment and for prevention of adverse environmental effects, and there must be recognition of environmentally sensitive issues. | |
| There must be prompt and reliable performance of inspections, maintenance, repair, and support during material failure. Design and manufacturing of materials must bear these factors in mind. | |
| Materials deliveries must be made on time. | |
