The AIC Purchase Department uses the following guidelines when purchasing parts and materials.
	Materials must meet AIC standards in quality and performance, and the materials must arrive within a reasonable timeframe. In addition, purchased items must demonstrate superior characteristics in shape, construction, useability, and maintenance.
	Price of materials must be in line with quality, performance, specifications, delivery, and payment conditions, as well as conforming to current market pricing trends, and be found suitable.
	Materials must also ensure safety during use and operation. The materials must demonstrate sufficient consideration for the environment and for prevention of adverse environmental effects, and there must be recognition of environmentally sensitive issues.
	There must be prompt and reliable performance of inspections, maintenance, repair, and support during material failure. Design and manufacturing of materials must bear these factors in mind.
	Materials deliveries must be made on time.
	All purchasing activities must follow legal regulations, provided information must be kept confidential, and careful attention must be given for handling.
	The supplier must maintain a system for promptly technical support and parts required for repairs and urgent situations.
